Global Ties U.S. implements inbound, outbound, and virtual programs that provide participants with comprehensive professional development; help them to expand their skill sets; and immerse them in new culture and experiences.
We work closely with program partners and funders, including U.S. Government agencies, domestic and international universities, associations, and more, to identify objectives and outcomes for each project, and to ensure that participants engage, learn, and build their capacity to do their important work.
Based in Washington, DC, we were founded in 1961 to be a partner to the U.S. Department of State and lead the nationwide Global Ties Network, which includes 80+ member organizations that serve all 50 U.S. states and implement the Inernational Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the United States’ flagship professional exchange program, and other public diplomacy programs.
