Support Our Work

Support citizen engagement in foreign affairs by making a contribution today.

Each year, thousands of current and emerging leaders from around the world visit the United States on the flagship International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and other international exchange programs.

IVLP participants are hand-selected by U.S. embassies to participate in short-term visits to support the long-term foreign policy interests of the United States.

The Global Ties Network – with more than 90 member organizations in communities across the United States – welcomes them and introduces them to this country. Exchange participants experience farm life in the midwest, urban centers from coast to coast, and small towns in between.

Along the way, they experience first-hand U.S. pluralism and diversity, and they see the strength of our country’s institutions, civil society, and enduring values. The community-based organizations that make up the Global Ties Network shape their experiences, building enduring relationships that strengthen our alliances.

Global Ties U.S. provides professional development and training to equip U.S. citizen diplomats with the skills and tools they need. Support citizen engagement in foreign affairs by making a contribution today.
