Sherry Lee Mueller Endowment for Scholarships, Advocacy, and Special Programs

Help secure the future of Global Ties U.S.

The Sherry Lee Mueller Endowment was established in 2005 by then-President and CEO Sherry Lee Mueller, Ph.D., with a bequest from her mother Lucille. The Endowment supports paid internships at Global Ties U.S. for students pursuing careers in international exchange and public diplomacy, and advocacy initiatives that ensure that the voice of the Global Ties Network is heard by leaders at the federal, state, and local levels.

Gifts to the endowment represent a permanent investment in the future of Global Ties U.S. Contributions help us:

  • Secure the long-term security of Global Ties U.S. and our Network as the domestic infrastructure for U.S. public diplomacy efforts
  • Provide meaningful professional experiences for globally-minded students to succeed in an increasingly transnational workplace
  • Share the story of our Network’s impact to build trust, alliances, and partnerships through international exchange

Emerging Leaders Program

Help prepare a diverse new generation of young people for careers in international exchange and public diplomacy.

For me, the transition from an in-person to a virtual internship was abrupt. Luckily, the team at Global Ties U.S. was committed to making sure everyone had a relatively smooth transition into remote working. This experience was a good lesson in adapting to ever changing circumstances.
