Global Ties U.S. Welcomes 2027 Emerging Leaders Cohort

The Washington, DC-based nonprofit Global Ties U.S. is excited to welcome our 2027 Emerging Leaders Program cohort this fall. This accomplished group comprised of thirteen young professionals who were each nominated by a Community-Based Member organization within the nationwide Global Ties Network and selected for their keen passion to showcase and strengthen their local communities through international exchange.

The Emerging Leaders Program is the signature professional development initiative for the Global Ties Network, equipping participants with the hard and soft skills they need to thrive in the modern workforce. The year-long program includes virtual workshops, personalized skill development, mentorship, community service projects, and a fully funded trip to Washington, DC to attend the Global Ties U.S. National Meeting, the premier annual event for international exchange and public diplomacy professionals.

Katherine A. Brown, Ph.D., President and CEO of Global Ties U.S., noted: “As we head into our 16th year of the Emerging Leaders Program, we are thrilled to continue to expand our impact. Our new collaboration with the Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation will enable us to offer more skill-based trainings and provide more support to the Emerging Leaders in implementing their service projects, and our 2027 National Meeting theme, The Exchange Advantage, will provide a platform for the 2027 cohort to showcase firsthand how they are applying their experiences within the Global Ties Network to increase their community impact and pay that advantage forward across the United States.”

Since launching in 2011, the Emerging Leaders Program has helped develop the career paths of more than 250 young professionals across the United States. Program alumni have gone on to pursue careers and leadership roles within the Global Ties Network, the U.S. Government, international business, global manufacturing, and technology. Program alumni also pay it forward by providing mentorship to the new cohorts.

The Emerging Leaders Program is completely privately funded. Global Ties U.S. deeply appreciates all our donors who make this program possible. Additional contributions can be made HERE.

The new cohort of Emerging Leaders will be featured in a special plenary session on Thursday, February 18 at the Global Ties U.S. 2027 National Meeting.
